Ponggol's Famous Seafood Restaurant!

Hey all, the BIG piggy is back with new updates on Punggol!

(smiles.) Today's topic is on Punggol's FAMOUS Seafood Restaurant!

(when I use CAPITAL letters, it means that it's too Famous to describe.)

History of the restaurant began 52 years ago, which was way before I was born!

Life for this restaurant started at a small corner kopitiam, at the right hand side of the road
where buses made their three point turn. This particular place was at Punggol End Jetty.(WOW!)

Above the fumes and hustle of the bus interchange, Punggol Choon Seng Seafood Restaurant
began to embark on a memorable journey of creating their own Famous Mee Goreng...

Since its humble beginnings in a Punggol coffee-shop, Choon Seng has been renowned for its

Incredibly DELICIOUS chilli crab- with ingredients and crabs all cooked to perfection. In the
same goal for perfect service, Choon Seng is proud to introduce their new FRAGRANT CRAB(AWESOME!)

With the perfect mix of black pepper and crispy garlic, it's a strong contender to the most

favourite dish. Other favourite dishes are also available - from live fish to shellfish... and
from crispy baby squid to mee goreng. We can assure you that it will be a fruitful trip to
Choon Seng to satisfy our UNBELIEVABLY big appetite!

I have tried the seafood and to me, it was a very memorable and fruitful trip as the food is oh-so-DELICIOUS!!!

Punggol Seafood (Hock Kee)!

Seafood Lovers (Hock Kee)

Well, sorry for the long delay for new post ... Anyway we are back.

Recently, i heard that there was a superb Seafood the name of the shop is Hock Kee .

The reccomending dishes,
  • The chilli crab ($35/kg) comes with a thick gravythat was rich with egg.

The crab is quite meaty under the shell plenty of roe.

  • The mee goreng ($5) worth to try, but it was a small serving and the prawn was
not very big but it has boasted a fabulous taste.
  • The crispy baby squid ($9) it was absolutely crispy right till the end of the

last peice. With the feel of a springy feeling.

If you might want to go there . Advantage of it located on the water's edge ,could see

the twinkling lights in Johor on the horizon while you dined.

Route direction ...

Travelling along Punggol Road, you will find brightly lit three-lanes road transform into a single lane.Once you leave the HDB flats behind, it is the old lane that leads to the old seafood restraurant. It is still unlit at stretches.

It is a worth going trip if you are looking for some nostalgia, and go quick beacause it is not staying the same for that long.

WARNING

Going to this restraurant may feel like going back to time.

Punggol Beach

Well Punggol Beach , or would I say
SINGAPORE 'S SLAUGHTER BEACH ?

I would not ho there if I was you , maybe back in the past...
Back in the past , if you was trying to dig up some seashells,
I say you would dig up remains of a human corpse...
Ok maybe you would pick up gold tooths ! just kidding ..
There was explanation for this ... Punggol beach was used to be
a world war II site

If you want to go there and you are those superstitious people or
easily gotten scared I would suggest THAT you should not be digging there..
Or maybe you are poor you could try and look out for gold tooths !!

MAltilda House

Well, this IS IPW, which stands for Inter-Disciplinary Project Work,

which is what we are doing now. So, we were supposed to do a project on Punggol, which is, unknown by many, only one of the fastest and most quiet places in the WHOLE of SINGAPORE which you simply must know MORE about it.. So here is it, there are two haunted locations there which is the: Matilda House and Punggol Beach! These are the most common reasons why people flock here; they are here to check out these two sort of HAUNTED places in that area. So this it one of the reasons why they are haunted...

Well, actually there is no cold hard evidence of why the Matilda House is haunted but according to my research, its main reason for being haunted is that the myth has it that there were people doing blackmagic there which is probably the most convincing of all of the other crap like there was 3 construction workers working on the Matilda House and they all died of unnatural reasons which is like there were no records of any construction workers found dead there so that ends the case... And the Punggol Beach was like a huge massacre place during the Sook Ching and hundreds of people were killed and when archaeologists excavated that area, they found decaying skulls beneath the sand. Some people even reported of the mysterious screams that were heard from the forest and so hardly anyone is there to check out the area now and so thats all...

Wanna know more about the History of Punggol, keep reading our online journal just about us and Punggol's history! Oh ya , a number was found in the house u might wanna bet on the number 7447 ! WISH YOU GOOD LUCK !!
